Reflective Identity ID Wristband We had a telephone call from a customer contacted last week wanting to thank us... The Vital ID Sports Identity Wristband he’d purchased from my company saved his son’s life. His son suffered a serious accident whilst out alone cycling which left him unconscious. The emergency contact information and medical details stored inside the identity bracelet gave paramedics critical medical information and contact numbers for his parents. His son is on the mend and expects to be out of hospital this week. Of course we cannot really take the credit for the wristband; although we are one of the UK's largest stockist of Sports Identity Wristbands, we did not design them - though we do think Vital ID are the best Identity bracelets available - but the story did make us smile. It also reiterated what we already knew; if you are out cycling alone you should always always always take your emergency contact's or next of kin's contact details with you (no apologies for using the power of 3 there). The contact details and medical details if necessary should be somewhere where paramedics or first on scene can easily locate them (wrists or neck, but preferably wrists). This is not the first time that one of our customers has contacted us to thank us for the usefulness and apparent power of their ID bracelet. We never know what is around the next bend (real or metaphorical bend) and so we should never put ourselves in the saddle if we're not wearing an identity or medical wristband. If it hadn't have been for the information stored in our son's identity wristband then it's possible he would no longer be with us. The information was enough to ensure the paramedics had fast access to information about his condition and, contact numbers for my wife and I. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
